The full, nutty taste of whole grains is something we love here at Great Harvest. However, it can be hard to get used to when switching from fluffy white bread. Here are some tips to help you make the switch:
- Half and Half. Make a sandwich with Honey Whole Wheat on top and Old Fashioned White bread on bottom.
- Use any basic or savory bread to make incredible croutons. A little oil, a few seasonings and oven bake for about 35 minutes.
- Toast it! It’s hard to turn down warm bread with a little butter and honey or jam. Some breads we make may be a blend of whole wheat flour and white flour. They taste terrific and you are still getting some whole grain.
- Try some of our specialty breads. Kids and husbands have a hard time turning down nuts, seeds, fruit and cheese even though it is in a whole wheat dough!
- French Toast it! Any of our sweet whole grain breads make restaurant quality French toast and give your morning that much better of a start.
Finally, be persistent. It generally takes adults about two weeks to get used to a change in what they eat. Kids can take up to 20 times of trying a new food before they like it!
