I am a long time and public fan of Seth Godin and his work. He has recently posted a few pieces that are too good to not share so I am going to do a series of pieces where we look at them together.
Please take a minute to read this short post by Seth:
Watching is not doing is a perfect commentary on exceptional customer service
What does that have to do with a local whole wheat bakery or profitable small businesses? Today, retail is all about being different and special. We as customers have too many options to choose from to settle for adequate. For being a spectator. The best people at customer service take a risk. They succeed at being different. At serving you breakfast in bed instead of just putting it on the table and calling you to come and eat.
That level of service turns customers into fans and fans are the best ambassadors a small business can have. They are invested in your success and feel a part of the family. That is what we strive to do at Great Harvest.
What service wows you and makes you an ambassador? Please share in the comments below.
