A few years ago I read a book loosely based on 9-11. Trashy suspense genre but I do that to escape sometimes. Well, a lot. One of the lessons was the main character, who thought he had lost his wife in the tower attack, resolved to tell her he loved her more often. To hold her hand when he could. To treasure the moments, all of them, because of the reality of how quickly it could all change. I don't know why that novel made that message stick, but it did.
During the holiday season, I find that to be a particularly good message. With all of the bad news in the world this is a great season for reflection and love. I don't want to make this too deep or long because it is Christmas Eve, but hug your family. Tell them all you love them. Do it again and keep it up all year long.
We have had a year of change in 2012. It was a very happy and fun year. I wish the same for each of you for 2013.
From our family to yours, Happy Holidays!
