Frankly, balance is a critical element of every success story. This season is one where it is incredibly easy to lose site of things that really matter. Our bakeries do an incredible job dealing with the holidays and baking all of the goodies we so dearly love. And, they still manage to take care of their lives. Their ability to balance is reflective of the people they are and how grounded they are in all aspects of life.
To put in a shameless plug for our bakeries, giving the gift of bread has a lot of things right with it. It is a very loving and warm gift. Tasty, too. And it supports local businesses baking with wheat from individually owned American farms sweetened with honey from American bees.
This year, the Ferretti family is taking a deep breath and just hugging each other for the holidays. We are stripping away all of the commercial trappings and just being us. We are grateful to be able to be together and to have one another. That is the greatest, most balanced gift I could ever receive. Or give. We are going to do the things that matter to rebalance our spirits. We won’t stress about cards or decorations or gifts. We will just be thankful for how fortunate we are. And, for those of you that used to be on my holiday card list that are laughing because we haven’t sent them in years, that doesn’t mean I haven’t stressed about not sending them.
