The Houston area borough of Katy, Texas will soon be home to the next whole grain bread franchise in the Great Harvest Bread Co. community. This store will open in early 2013 and will be a family affair, owned by Dana and Dianne Roark and their daughter Heidi.
About three years ago, Dana and Dianne began contemplating the idea of opening a franchise with their daughter Heidi. Heidi, a 2010 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors of Science in Family and Consumer sciences, had both a solid educational foundation and a passion for baking and Dana and Dianne wanted to find a business that fit those unique fortes.
Unsure at first of what type of franchise opportunity best suited their family, Dianne stumbled upon a Great Harvest while visiting her brother in Virginia. Dianne immediately fell in love with the hot, fresh, whole grain products and excellent customer service she saw in the store. She was able to bring some product home to her family in Texas, they devoured it in hours and it was soon decided that Great Harvest was the perfect fit for the family.
The Roark’s have been residents of Katy for nearly twenty years. With Dana’s passion for sports writing, Dianne’s avid volunteerism with organizations such as the Kingsland Baptist Church and Houston Food Bank and Heidi’s passion for baking, they will truly be able to deliver a one of a kind Great Harvest Bread Company to Katy, Texas.
The Roark family can hardly wait to open the doors of their new Great Harvest Bread Company franchise – some equipment was installed just last week—and look forward to offering you a thick, warm (and free!) slice of whole grain bread just for stopping by!
