In November we asked Great Harvest customers to give us feedback on our brand and what it represents to them. We also gathered information on product preferences and about you – our incredible customers. More than 4,500 of you responded and 30 percent of you used the term “love” in describing our products and service. We love you right back!
Here Are Some Highlights From Our Customer Survey.
First, Honey Whole Wheat remains our flagship product. That’s pretty cool, especially since today more of us are seeking fresh-tasting, healthy foods with ingredients closest to nature.
Second, we also learned that our customers are smart cookies. The overwhelming majority of you have college educations, and many doctorate degrees and you care a lot about how food tastes (i.e., eating well should taste amazing), your shopping experiences (i.e., why be treated like a transaction when you can be treated as a friend), and about the importance of your food being fresh (i.e., preservatives are so passé).
You Underscored the Importance of Relationships.
At Great Harvest we strive to serve our whole grain breads with a side of friendship.
In an open-ended question asking “why do you shop at Great Harvest,” we heard a lot about the value of being genuine and friendly.
Here are some response excerpts:
“I shop at Great Harvest for quality breads of course…but the main reason is the quality of the employees you hire. They are friendly, helpful and respectful. Courtesy means a lot these days and I am ALWAYS thanked at the end of the sale…”
“I love the whole grain style of life. This place has it. The atmosphere is great. It is friendly and caring. There is joy in the place…People who come to shop are happy to be there…I love to go there.”
“We shop at Great Harvest because the breads and sweets are amazing. The owners are always friendly. The very generous bread samples make it easy to choose the right bread…it is always good, always fresh and always welcoming.”

BTW, our fresh baked whole grain Dakota bread, cookies and Cinnamon Chip bread were in the top five favorite products that keep you coming back, too!
