I think the two are different and just spent the last two days in meetings discussing the finer points of what is what in those two worlds. When you walk into a Great Harvest bakery, we hope you enter a smile zone. A place where you can take a deep breath and relax. Somewhere you can count on tasty, fresh natural products. And, we want you to be treated to a smile and a huge free slice. And we want it to be natural. No rule on “greet someone within 3 seconds” or anything like that. What we want is for you to be engaged when your body language says you are ready.
Is that experience or service? Some of it is service (the slice and the smile sure are) but the whole package is more than service. The smile zone, the brand promise of healthy natural tasty products centered around whole grain breads, the bright look are more than service. The music is more than service. The aroma and smells are more than service. They all come together to create an experience. One we hope is a wow moment for you.
The original model that drove the Disney theme parks was all service packaged to create an experience. When you walked in the front gate onto Main Street, you immediately started looking for the Disney Characters wandering around. You knew the park would be spotless. You knew the rides would be awesome. And, you knew there would be lines…but, the whole package made the experience worth the cost.
Great Harvest has never made a movie but, trust me, our stores are full of characters doing their best to create an experience for you that puts a smile on your face.
What do you like about your Great Harvest experience?
